christmas market

On the second weekend in the advent season Interlaken's "Christchindlmärit" as the biggest christmas market in the region takes place. There will be around 200 market stalls offering a wide variety of food, muddle wine, handycraft, clothes, stones and other possible presents. It's the concept of the event to give opportunity to regional as well as national sellers and include attractions for any kind of people. So there will f.ex. be traditional brassband and salvation army- like sung open- air concerts on the street but electric live music in bordering restaurants as well.

There is also a contest awarding a price to the most beautifully decorated stand.

The market starts at 10 o'clock in the morning on both days and lasts up to 9 p.m. an saturday and 6 p.m. on Sunday.
